Many commercial sites to be your portal into Northeast Washington.  Most are generic and without roots in Northeast Washington. Here are some sites that have been developed locally and stay current with the area.

Events:  The widest range of events and most extensive listing of local events is available through UpperColumbia.net.  Unique calendar software allows this site to integrate calendars maintained by diverse organizations such as golf courses, the Park Service and chambers of commerce.  Events can be filtered by categories such as recreation, art and education.  Look to this site not only to see what is going on, but to plan events for your groups with the least amount of conflict.  If you host a large number of events, consider getting your own calendar to integrate with this one.

Small Businesses drive the economy of Northeast Washington and Idaho.  For Northeast Washington, the most actively maintained source of information on local business is StevensCounty.biz.  With an actively maintained database of over 1700 businesses, churches, governments and groups in Northeast Washington, searching this site gives you the best chance of finding what you are looking for.

Stories:  A good source of articles and stories about recreation, health, music and local history is the North Columbia Monthly.  They also have a comprehensive listing of regular meetings for clubs and a wide range of events.

Lodging:  This is not a comprehensive list, but if you are looking for a place to stay around Colville, look at our lodging map (PDF).

Food: Again this is not comprehensive, but a good map of restaurants in Colville (PDF).

Wine:  The only commercial winery in the area is China Bend.  There are however a good number of vineyards, including a small one here next to the office.

Slow Food:  For a number of reasons including great taste, sustainability, better health and sanity, we advocate local, organic seasonal food.  A major advocate of Slow Food is the Quillisascut Farm School. and cheese factory.  To learn more about the slow food movement in general, check out Slow Food USA.

Links:  Here are some quick links to Chambers of Commerce, Schools, Hospitals and Recreation.
