 AAUW Mission:
The American Association of University Women promotes equity for all woman and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change. In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race,
creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class.  AAUW is composed of three entities:

 The Association, a 100,000-member organization with more than 1,300 branches nation-wide that lobbies and advocates for education and equity. 

The AAUW Education Foundation, provides about $4,000,000 annually to advance education, research, and self-development for women and to foster equity and positive societal change. This is the largest source of funding exclusively for graduate women in the world. It supports aspiring scholars around the globe, teachers and activists in local communities, women at critical stages of their careers, and those pursuing professions where women are underrepresented.  

The AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund, $3 million in grants and fellowships each year and provides a support system for women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination in higher education. It is the nation.s largest legal fund focused solely on sex discrimination in higher education. The AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund provides funding and a support system to women fighting sex discrimination at colleges and universities.
