Welcome to the web site of the Panorama Gem and Mineral Club.  We have about 60 members from the three Northeast Counties of Washington and some nearby areas.  We meet monthly in Kettle Falls and have a Christmas party in December.  Each meeting has an entertaining program and some business connected to our annual rock show, scholarships, field trips etc.  We welcome members of all ages.

Rock Shows:  So many shows, so little time…

About Local Rocks

Northeast Washington may be the most geologically complicated part of the North American Continent.  We have thousands of known mineral sites that include most of the periodic table.  Follow this link to a brief geological history of the last 750 million years.

The Panorama Prospector

Follow this link to an index of articles and issues of our newsletter, The Panorama Prospector.  It may be the easiest way to get to know a lot about us and about our hobby. (Warning:  These files range in size from 3 to 9 megabytes.  A fast connection is recommended.  For shorter articles, go to the Field Trips Page.)

Working with Rocks

Getting there is half the fun, but there are so many hobbies and businesses related to rocks, that it’s hard to know where to start or stop.  Follow this link for some articles and references about them.
