Okanogan County is larger than the 3
smallest States. With almost 5000 roads and 1200 place names, it fills its
5300 square miles with some of the highest peaks, most desolate rocks and
richest farmland in Washington.
To prepare this book, we confirmed hundreds of miles of roads on aerial photos, worked with the Tribes and the state, federal and county
governments to ensure integrity. For the current edition, we have completely
reviewed our geographic names and other features and completely renewed Forest Service
Trails. The new layout allows all main map pages to fold out to 11" x
17" coverage. Relief shading adds new dimension to roads and streams.
Property boundaries have been refreshed along with public land ownership.
